Field Trip: Shorebird Field Trip with Gary Clark
Saturday, February 25 @ 7:30 am - 11:00 am$50
Shorebird identification can become frustrating because the plumage on many shorebirds blends with muted hues of coastal habitats, resulting in subtle shorebird field marks. Gary Clark will ease the frustration of identification by showing how to place shorebirds in discrete groups, how to recognize key physical shapes, how to spot diagnostic behaviors (with some attention to vocalizations,) and how to recognize habitats occupied by specific shorebirds. Gary is a college professor, Houston Chronicle nature columnist, and author of the recently released Book of Texas Birds, published by Texas A&M University Press.
