Dr. Michael Womack, executive director of the South Texas Botanical Gardens & Nature Center, will lead the discussion on butterflies Learn about both larval and nectar plants needed to attract butterflies to your garden. Dr. Michael Womack is a native of Rockport, Texas. He currently lives in Corpus Christi with his wife Kim, and their two children, Nathan and Emma.

He holds a B.S. in Agriculture (horticulture emphasis) from Texas A&I University in Kingsville, M.S. in Floriculture from Texas A&M University in College Station, and an Ed.D. (Doctorate of Education) in Agricultural Education from Texas Tech University in Lubbock and Texas A&M University in College Station as one of the first graduates of their pioneering join doc-a-distance program. He has been the garden columnist for the Corpus Christi Caller Times since 1997. He is now the Executive Director and Horticulturist at the South Texas Botanical Gardens & Nature Center in Corpus Christi. He also serves on the board of the Corpus Christi Convention and Visitors Bureau as secretary and serves on the CVB marketing committee.
