The Port Aransas Chamber of Commerce & Tourist Bureau invites you to a book signing and presentation by award-winning nature writer Mary O. Parker and distinguished nature photographer Jeff Parker of their new book, Explore Texas: A Nature Travel Guide on Friday, February 3 at 3:00 p.m. at the Port Aransas Community Center located at 408 N. Alister Street. Whooping Crane Festival volunteers will have the opportunity to take advantage of enjoying $5 off the price of the book during this special event.

Explore Texas features descriptions of nearly 100 nature-oriented sites, including information about the best time to visit, why it’s worth going and the natural phenomena a visitor might expect to experience. Mary Parker’s work regularly appears in Texas Parks & Wildlife magazine. Jeff Parker is an award-winning wildlife and nature photographer.

A Whooping Crane Festival volunteer orientation will immediately follow the book signing. New and returning volunteers and anyone interested in volunteering for the 2017 Whooping Crane Festival are encouraged to attend. Volunteer positions include bird guides, welcome and merchandise table assistants, and tour greeters. Festival T-shirts will be available for purchase at half price for volunteers. Refreshments will be provided.
