Field Trip: Explore Oso Bay Wetlands Preserve

Friday, February 22, 2019 @ 1:00 pm - 4:30 pm

The Oso Bay Wetlands Preserve & Learning Center serves to enhance community understanding for the need to preserve the natural resources of coastal ecosystems for future generations through access and education.

This 162-acre nature preserve is filled with the wonders of our natural world. We invite everyone to explore the two miles of nature viewing trails and walk away with a new-found experience and understanding. Our Education Coordinator, Caleb Harris, will lead a bird walk covering small patches of thornscrub, prairie, wetland, and bayfront. Possible species of interest include Groove-billed Ani, Olive Sparrow, Sandhill Crane, Reddish Egret, Harris’ Hawk, White-eyed Vireo, ducks and more.

The preserve is owned and operated by the City of Corpus Christi Parks & Recreation Department. Loaner binoculars will be provided for those that need them.
